There  is wonderful walking trail beginning at

 John Batchelor Memorial Church

and   continuing to Enmei Jizouson in Uso Cho, Date city, Hokkaido, which is both   relaxing and healing. 

Along this short walking trail there is a church, 

a shrine and jizoudo. 

We would like to take you step by step down this walking trail starting from Usu station.

We   begin the trail at Usu station. 

Usu   station is located 

between Date station and Toya station.

If you walk at a leisurely pace it will   take you about ten minutes to go from Usu station to John Batchelor Memorial   Church. The first point you will   encounter along the way will be the Ishibashi store. This is the only store in Usu cho.

Make a  left at the Ishibashi store, and as  you continue walking you will soon see the John Batchelor Memorial Church.

John   Batchelor Memorial Church is located on a hill. This area is especially beautiful around   June when the hydrangea flowers are in season and the church is surrounded by   the flowers in full bloom. Regardless   of what time of year you visit, you will always feel relaxed here.

Now we   will return to the Ishibashi store on the same path we took to John Batchelor   Memorial Church. From there we will go   onward to Usu bay and Usu Zenkoji. This will take us toward Usu Zenkoji Temple. 

  
When   you arrive at the fork in the road, go towards the left. You will see the   ocean on your left side, and to your right side you will see the red Torii   (arches) of Ousuyama shrine. It is a   tiny shrine.

Caution: Please first refer to an orthopedist or your local hospital for deformation and pain surrounding the knee-bone area.
If the bone has no problems, you can solve knee pain by strengthening your muscles.

(1)The early stage where you can feel a light pain
You may feel discomfort in your knees or it has become harder to bend your knees.  That's the beginning of knee trouble.
The reason could be from aging, an aftereffect of an injury, an accident, the overuse of knees in sports or exhaustion from work (carrying heavy items) etc.
Gaining weight also puts stress on knees. 

Knee pain will be eased by massaging the calf.
We guide you on how to massage the calf at our lecture classes or at our clinic during our massage.
You can also ease the pain by using a supporter made with fabric which improves blood circulation, such as Photoelectron.


(2)The winter type that hurts only during cold seasons
If you are the person who feels pain when it's cold due to the season or an air conditioner, you need a plan to not cool your body down and ease the pain.
First, try not to eat cooling foods such as, fresh vegetables in a cold season if you are easy to feel cold!
To eat vegetables, you should eat them as a soup, a stew or sauteed dishes as much as you can.
You can ease the pain by eating ginger (dried ginger is better), onion or other allium foods which will warm your body and by avoiding cooling foods as much as possible.
We also recommend the latest in thermal underwear or high socks. 

First, try not to cool your body!
Second, don't push yourself.
Muscular strength can get weaker although you feel that you are still young.
Even though you think that the pain will lessen, it won't get better by doing nothing.
It's better if you could figure out the reason of what caused the pain.
For example, if you started feeling pain in your knees, back and feet after you started to wear a new pair of shoes, you can stop the pain from getting worse by not wearing the shoes.  You will hurt your body more if you keep wearing your new favorite shoes which is the source of the trouble. 


Don't wear shoes which do not match your feet!
If you can't throw them away, you should wear them only for a short time on special occasions like a party.

The person who has cold feet.

We are often asked why "my feet often get sweaty" or "my feet are always sweating." 

Basically hands and feet are easy to sweat.  It is said that animals that walked on four feet are the ancestors of modern day humans.  By sweating through our hands and feet, an animal stands firm and can have a tight grip as to not slip.

The people who often sweat on their feet are likely to get cold feet easily.
When people’s feet start to sweat, because their feet are cold, the sweat is not going to dry up and stay wet.  This makes for a vicious circle and their feet will become even cooler because of the sweat.

If your feet sweat easily, you should try these suggestions. 

(1) Stop wearing shoes which make your feet sweaty easily.
Your feet get cold, once your feet get sweaty.  It's important to choose the right shoes for your feet.

Bunion

The situation may be different depending on the angle of your bunions, however if you easily have muscle cramps in the soles of your feet or feel pain in your toes, your body will be soothed by fixing your feet or toes as soon as possible. 


If your big toe is deviating inward, at a 23 degree angle to be exact, you are suffering from bunions. 

The reason why it's caused could stem from wearing shoes which don't match the width of your feet, playing a sport which puts a strain on the big toe, walking with bad posture, having a bad back, etc. 

Some people have bunions congenitally.
Bunions do not only look bad, but also get worse if you don't treat them.
